About
Me I am a hard working and productive member of society, which means a lot to me especially from where I have come from. Seven years ago, I was wheel chair bound, on the streets of Daytona Beach and with my addictions, I became a prostitute and I had no hope of living. My mother had passed away and the rest of my family disowned me. An angel of a person took me to an Anonymous meeting one night and I stayed. I have never seen this person again, but the blessing he bestowed upon me has helped to shape my belief system today. I am actively working to help others
who need help, just like I was helped and I find it very rewarding. I even have
a new family that has adopted me as their own son with two new brothers and a
sister. |
When I became sick in 2007, I kept working both jobs throughout the entire illness and still work one of the jobs today.
In January of 2010, I became too ill to continue working for the State of Florida and went on extended leave of absence. In October of 2011, it had been reported that the building I was working in is contaminated and an unsafe or sick building to work in.
January 15th of this year, I was terminated for not being able to perform my duties in this building. I do not bare ill will for the State of Florida, but they do have the burden of causing my illness.
Why do I need to go home?
I am sure you are asking this question and I fully understand it. Well the loss of one income has crippled me financially. I am single and have tried roommates several times but have never found one who could stay sober and pay the bills. My sobriety is paramount in my life and I refuse to allow active addition to reside in my home that I rent.
As I was frantically searching for a new job, I was forced to hock every piece of the jewelery I had acquired over the years and also had to sign for two check advances. Just when it seemed that all was lost, I received a phone call from my new Brother informing me that my mother is starting Radiation Therapy and that she would really like to see me. I also wanted to see her and my adopted family, so my Brother said, just move home.
That brings me to here...
I am selling all of my possessions, so that I may get my precious belongings out of hock and hopefully move me, my clothing, and a few original family heirlooms home with me.
Before I got sober, I could never ask for help, in fact, I had disappeared entirely from my new family for ten years and every year, they prayed for my return. To get sober, I had to learn to humble myself and ask for help.
So here I am, laying all the facts out on this web page for all to see, in the hopes that some of you could find it in your hearts to help me move home.
